Trek to Mt.Tanigawa
I climbed up Mt.Tanigawadake (h=1977m) through Nishiguro ridge path at 8th September in 2014.
The mountain is one of the famous mountain in Japan.
But I was in the mist at the summit of the mountain!
My trek route was the green line, I started from the rightside up at 8:33am and walked to the left point, this is the summit of the mountain at noon, and walked down to the right on the left map to the terminal of the ropeway, that was 13:43pm

At the morning, the weather was fine and I could see the summit. The weather forecast of the last night reported it'll be fine and good for mountain climb, but it was getting worse while I climb it up. When I climbed at the summit of the mountain, I was in the mist.
I parked my car in the Base Plaza of ropeway service. The entrance of the mountain path was a little distance away from the Plaza. I walked up on the paved road to the entrance. The left picture is the entrance of the Nishiguro ridge walk. The gradient of the mountain path is very hard, but the route has few branch, so it's easy to get the direction.
On the rock climbing point, the direction to the summit has been showing by a yellow-line paint. I show one of the rock climbing point of this path at the below picture.
The mountain path gradient was going steep uphill. And the gradient of the uphill was not dropped almost till the summit. There was many places that I have to climb up like a lock climbing. And there were many places that prepared the chain for climbing
I was overtaken from three younger hikers while I was walking to the summit of the mountain.
I went back to the car parking lot by ropeway from Tenjindaira.
Too many hikers were on the summit around, and they were taking a lunch and a break.
The walk way of Nishiguro ridge that I climbed has a long steep ridge walk. So it's not suitable for the average or beginner hikers. I guess that the hikers came walking through from the ridge of Tenjin and they used the ropeway to save the physical energy. It'll be about 140minutes walk to the average hiker from the Tenjindaira ropeway terminal to the summit of the mountain, so I think it's a good easier way to get the summit.
