Trek Activity : Mt.Asamayama
I climbed up Mt.Asamayama last Saturday.
The Mt.Asamayama is a volcanic mountain. There is a off limits area near the volcanic vent now. The off limits area is written on the board beside the starting point of the mountain. The starting point of the mountain is in front of the opposite side of a hotel.
The off limits area depends on the volcanic activities of Mt.Asamayama. It's the lowest level of the volcanic activities now.
I parked my car on the roadside between a backyard of a hotel and a parkinglot. There were a few cars parked already.
It was cloudy, so I was anxious about rain. The weather was getting better and finally it got too hot!
Many hikers were walking to the same direction with me.
The uphill of the mountain road is not so hard to the edge of J-band that is the terminal point of the outer rim of a crater, so it's easy to get "トーミの頭( a rock that named the head of Tohmi". I arrived at the point about 8:30am. It's on the big rock on the abrupt cliff. I'm afraid of heights like that of the same places. So, I could not take a glimpse into the lower ground from that place.
The sky got clear stretch view as far as the horizon, so I caught sight of small Mt.Fuji in the distance.
I coursed to J-band along the outer rim of a crater of Asamayama. There are a few peaks on the way to J-band. Mt.Kurofuyama(黒斑山 h=2404m) is the highest mountain of the outer rim of a crater. The next peak is Mt.Jyakotsudake(蛇骨岳). The sightseen from the outer rim of a crater were all amazing view.
I went down from the point of J-band to the bottom of a crater. It was a very steep down hill. The mountain road to Mt.Asamayama starts from the bottom of the crater.
The uphill and downhill walking of Mt.Asamayama was very tough for me, because I made muscle trainings on the outer rim of a crater. I caused contraction of my foot because of a tough exercise after I arrived to the bottom of the crater. I squatted down on the rock beside a mountain path for a while. I drank a sports drink to supply the saline water for body recovery. There was a tough up-hill of the outer rim of a crater before the route to the parking lot. My foot was seized with cramp so often when I walk up stairs on a steep stairway. And the temperature of the air was very warm, the mountain trail was very steep, I had to make a break very often while walking the up-hill.
The next file is a gpx file of this trek's result. If you download the file to the suitable folder and open it from "Google Earth", you can see my trek result.
