Long Walk Chichibu 27km

I'm going to have a plan to walk "Long Walk Chichibu 27km (ロングウォークちちぶ路)" on 6th October. Last year, I attend the event and enjoyed walking. This year, I'm going to walk the 27km course with some friends of the company. If you can arrive at the goal 300 ranking, you'll get some gifts as a relic of the event. But, I thought at the last year, it depended on how early you can start from Nagatoro station. I'll start at Nagatoro station at 7:30~8:00am this year. I got a memorial medal and a cap at Yorii station last year. Needless to say, I'll get it again.

The trek route has a little severe hill-walking, but long walking. If you feel tired along the way, it has a escape route to the railway station available. Or, you can be stopped on 7km or 17km walk. The standard time from start to the goal Yorii Station will be 8 hours.

The URL of the event.

http://www.microsoft.com/japan/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx )

1.XP Mode

Windows XP Mode - Windows Virtual PC

NetMD device control from Vista PC

I had Windows Vista 32bit installed on the partitioned HDD of MacBook Pro. One of the purpose of the old-fashioned windows installation was to control a Net-MD device from PC.
The Net-MD device driver for Windows7 driver was not found in the net. In addition, Windows7 has an emulation mode of WindowsXP, so I installed the OS and I did install the Net-MD device driver on it. But the Net-MD device was not activated. So, I segmented the HDD of MacBook Pro into two part. And I installed WindowsVista-32bit on the other side of Mac OS.

(Attention! "I found it a few moments later." --> My information was not correct. The driver installation to "XP Mode" was done correctly, but I thought that signal will be connected after USB set. So, its information was not correct. The connection button was behind the USB setting button of Windows XP Mode. I should have set the button on. I did not set the button because the button was not seen directly, so the NetMD was not activated.)

Dscn0985_2Dscn0993And next, I installed the Net-MD driver for MZ-N920 onto the PC. The MZ-N920 driver for Windows Vista 32bit was found from SONY customer support. After the installation, MZ-N920 was controlled by Windows Vista PC with the application of SonicStage. I was surprised that the driver can be controlled to the MZ-N10.

Dscn0991I have the other NetMD device MDS-JE780. So, I tried to connect it to PC but was not recognized and activated.
I reminded my memory, and found the driver in my storage that downloaded it few years ago. I installed it to the PC. That had no error. I connected PC and MDS-JE780 with USB cable. I checked the Net-MD button of MDS-JE780, it was controlled by Windows Vista PC with the application of SonicStage, it was the same usage as MZ-N920.

MZ-N920 driver for Windows Vista 32bit: SONY customer support (in Japanese)
NetMD deiver that I installed for MDS-JE780: I cannot upload it because of its upload size limitation(1MB). In addition, SONY has the copyright of the driver

Trek: Seven flowering grasses of autumn

I went to Nagatoro in Chichibu district to search the flowering grasses of autumn. I participated in an walking event "Let's see the seven flowering grasses of autumn" that was held by Chichibu railways and Tobu railways.
I thought it's very difficult to visit on set of flowering time. The dianthus and Kudzu were very few, so I thought these are already past its prime. I could not take a picture of flower of kudzu. But, I'll show you some pictures that I took yesterday.

The other seasonal traditions that I encountered

Dsc_0676Dsc_0690Dsc_0712Dsc_0715I rode a train of Chichibu railways from Yorii station. The train was an occasional one for the event. It was 3-connected train with 3-doors. I worried "Can I get on the train?", because the platform of Yorii was full of people for the event. The train that arrived at Yorii station was almost empty, so all the people could get on a train. I powered on my eTrex so as to record the trek. And I had pocketed it at first sight. It was in my home when I checked the GPS after it powered.
Unfortunately, it had not recorded the trak.
So, I attached some URLs that introduce the trek to visit seven flowers of autumn in Nagatoro. It's in Japanese but I guess you can get the general geographical information from them.
--> Today, I made the trek data recovered.

Key Notes
Location;      It's about 75km North-West of Tokyo
Date walked; September 22 (Sat.), 2012 (overcast weather)
Map;            It was offered from the organizer.
Garmin GPS(eTrex 30) + Japan RoadNavi 25000 v2 produced by UUD Co.,Ltd.

Walk type;    Field walk
Distance;     about 13 km
Time required;  about 4 hours [my trek was 3:23 with lunch break]

Well, yesterday, I felt a big pain in calf of left side leg while walking. It was difficult to walk smoothly because of pain. It happened about three weeks ago in the same part, while I'm jogging in the night. I continued running about 1km while I felt its leg pains. From that accident, I feel a small pain in left legs. Last week on Oze, I felt some pains in the same part of the leg. I thought I should need some care without strain for the next trek.

Trek: Oze National Park trek to see waterfalls

Dsc_0561I went to Oze National Park by overnight bus. The purpose of this trek was to see waterfalls of Oze area.

My walking plan is the next.
Oshimizu bus stop -> Ichinose rest house -> Sanpei pass -> Sampei-Shita -> (walk to the West and walk along the pond edge of Oze-numa) -> Numajiri -> (walk to the West) -> Shimo-tashiro cross -> (walk to the North) -> Hiraname-no-taki (waterfall)-> Sanjo-no-taki (waterfall) -> (walk to the East, walk on Hiuchi-ura shindou) -> Miike lodge

The bus stop of "Oshimizu" is located on 2.5hours walk South of "Oze-numa".

Dscn0907The overnight bus arrived at 3:35am at the bus stop. Four person stepped down from the bus at the bus stop. I confirmed my equipments and had a wash before walk.

Dsc_0188Dsc_0190I started before dawn at 4:08am.
It was yet-dark, I had been walking hearing a sound of insects of autumn.

Dscn0912Dsc_0195Dsc_0208The dawn was about 5:25am from my garmin GPS. I took a rest at "Ichinose rest house", and took a breakfast.

Dsc_0218Dsc_0225The mountain trail begins near the rest house. I could not sleep in the bus at all, so my body was so heavy to walk on the mountain uphill. The mountain range after sunrise was beautiful that the clouds over the mountain were gradually unveiled and its aspects were also beautiful.

Dsc_0233Dsc_0246I arrived at the edge of Ozenuma "Sampei-shita" about 6:38am. My body was gradually cheered up by effect of morning meals. I walked against a backdrop of the rising sun.

Dsc_0306Dsc_0320I saw the Mt.Hiuchigatake under the clear blue sky on the right. The mountain shape looked big and beautiful. Sometimes, I had to walk on a bad conditioned pathway without board walk while walking along the pond edge path.

Dsc_0405Dsc_0434Dsc_0438I arrived at "Numajiri rest" house about 7:40am. I took some pictures and confirmed the direction to "Shimotashiro-jyujiro (crossing)".

The name of this path is "Ozenuma-rindou". The path is nearly flat to "Akatashiro-bunki (branch)" but I felt too long walk.

Dsc_0488"Yashirou-koya" near by "Akatashiro-bunki (branch)" was a good place to take a rest.
It had drinkable chilly springwater, and a lot of chairs and tables. I had a wash near by, and had a short break.

Dsc_0531I walked toward "Akatashiro". A board walk at "Akatashiro" beside "Onsen-koya" and "Motoyu-sanso (lodge)" was swapping with new board. At the front of the lodge, a route map to the waterfalls.
The distance was short but I took a lot of time because of rocky downhill mountain path.
A surprising matter happened on the downhill path to "Sanjo-no-taki". I was spoken from a trekker, he said "Oh, hell the path!" So, when I look back and saw the man, I remembered the same face who retired the company at the age 60 before 10 years. I called his name, and after that he had recognized me. We all had a great surprise, I thought its probability will be smaller than I meet a bear in the mountain.

Dsc_0566Dsc_0561Dsc_0574I went to "Sanjo-no-taki" with him and took a commemorative picture with the waterfall.
After that, I walked to "Miike lodge" by way of "Hiuchi-ura-shindou", and he went back to "Oshimizu parking".

Dsc_0599Dsc_0624Dsc_0632I was tired so I guess the route to "Usagi-tashiro" continued the steepy uphill.

Dsc_0641Dsc_0645It was 13:25pm when I arrived at "Miike lodge". The next express bus to "Aizukogen Ozeguchi" was 14:30pm, I took a bath at "Miike lodge". The big bath is the 2nd floor of the lodge. I paid 500yen, and freshened up!

Dscn0917The express bus was driven smoothly without traffic jam. It took about 70minutes by bus.
I had a little time until the departure times of the train at the station.

Dscn0923Dscn0924The train was rapid-transit train to "Kinugawa-Onsen", and I switched to the limited express train of Tobu-railways to "Asakusa" very smoothly. To head toward "Omiya", I transferred the train at "Kasukabe" to Tobu-Noda line.

My trek route and time-table
(start) Oshimizu bus stop 4:08am -> Ichinose rest house (breakfast) 5:20am -> Sanpei pass 6:23am -> Sampei-Shita 6:38am -> (walk to the West and walk along the pond edge of Oze-numa) -> Numajiri 7:40am -> (walk to the West) -> Shimo-tashiro cross 9:07am -> Motoyu-sanso (lodge) 9:47am -> (walk to the North) -> Hiraname-no-taki (waterfall) 10:02am -> Sanjo-no-taki (waterfall) 10:40am -> (walk to the East, walk on Hiuchi-ura shindou) -> Urahiuchi-hashi (bridge) 12:08pm -> Nomeri-tashiro 12:54pm -> Hime-tashiro 13:12pm -> Miike lodge 13:25pm (end)

クリス・ボッティの盤は、3曲目にお気に入りの曲「I've got you under my skin(Katharine McPheeとの共演)」が入っていたのが購入の決め手です。

『Windows XP Mode』
