Okutama trek; JR Okutama -> Mt.Nokogiri -> Mt.Odake -> Rock-garden -> Mt.Mitake -> JR Mitake
I walked Okutama district at last Saturday with Johan. I arrived at JR Okutama station at 8:28am.
I walked from JR Okutama station to Mt.Nokogiri, Mt.Odake, Ayahironotaki waterfalls, Rock garden, Mt.Mitake and JR Mitake station.
The weather was cloudy and had a light rain. The temperature was not so high, but it was very humid. We walked about 18km and it took about 6hours 40minute that includes break time.
What a pity! We could see only a few miles from the top of Mt.Odake and Mt.Mitake because of a little rain. All in all, the weather condition, temperature, road condition was not so bad.
We arrived at the top of Mt.Odake(h=1266.5m) at 12:00am. We took a rest and lunch for 15minutes.
After the break time, we came down to Rockgarden. I found a tiny stream on the entrance of Rockgarden.
I wanted to go within the stream. When I bowed my knee to wash hands by cooled stream, I felt a cramp pain in my thigh muscle. To healing the tonus of the muscle, I drank a lot of sports drink, and ate a piece of chocolate that was given from him.
After a short break time, it released my muscle.
When I walk up stairs, I felt a little pain and cramp stroke to my muscle a few times.
We walked by a basin of Ayahironotaki waterfall, then walked along the Rockgarden, and walked up to Mt.Mitake. The Rockgarden had a harmony of beautiful tiny stream and green scenery with the trees and the rock covered by moss.
After we walked up to Mt.Mitake and Mitake shrine, we went to JR Mitake station by walk. The road to the JR Mitake station was all being paved but had slope, so I felt a little difficult to walk.
My first mountain walk on Okutama district after a long time was an excellent stimulation for my muscle.
I guess that it's difficult to walk on this route by only foreigners, because the many direction board was written only in Japanese.
We arrived at JR Mitake station at 15:09pm.
