BushuHino Station->Mt.Kumakura->Siroku Station

I climbed Mt. Kumamura at November 28th. The weather was fine and the last autumn color was seen from the mountain path. A scenery of Mt. Bukou and Chichibu City from the mountain path was very good. A view from the summit of Mt. Kumakura was not good because of surrounded trees.

My trekking route
Map_of_mt_kumakura This is my trek route. I walked about 16km and it took 5hours 20minutes with a short break for lunch (at the summit of Mt. Kumakura). When I ascend the mountain, I used the Hino route, and when I descend it, I used forest road route to Shiroku Station.

Dscf5494s Dscf5504s ->I passed the sign of the mountain trail entrance, because I was fascinated by the scene of Chichibu City seen from a mountain road and took some pictures.
As a result, I made a loss to the plan about 13 minutes (about 1km).

Regarding Mitake area route, I transcribed the location from my GPS trekking data. The GPS accuracy was in very bad condition because of valley walk. So, the accuracy of the route will be not worth believing.

I met a comfortable elder couple at the lunch, we talked about a mountain trekking each other. She was very active lady and he was a nice gentleman. I thought they are a good couple. I took a picture for them as a memory of the meeting on a mountain path.

After a short break for lunch, I walked to Myoou Pass and Jimba Mountain. I took a wrong mountain path because of incorrect understanding of map , so I walked double route before Wada pass about 1.6km 30minute that was a big loss. I arrived at Wada Pass 14:08pm.

Dscf5356s Dscf5357s I arrived at the summit of Jimba Mountain at 14:26pm. Unfortunately, I could not see Mt. Fuji because of clouds. But, by a happy chance, my walking schedule was as same as my initial plan at the summit of Jimba Mountain.

I increased my walking pace, and walked to the Myoo Pass.
I arrived at Myoo Pass 14:55pm.

From the mountain path to Sagamiko lake was covered by a lot of Japanese cedar trees, so I could not see the shape of the lake with the exception of the sun light reflection from the lake.

The plan(walk from Hatonosu to Urayamaguchi) was failed

I had a new mountain walk plan that is from Hatonosu Station of Ome line to Urayamaguchi Station of Chichibu Line.
Dscf5154s Dscf5155s_2 Today, I got up early in the morning. I arrived at Hatonosu Station about 20 minutes earlier than the plan. The weather was fine and my condition was very nice.
I walked a mountain path at a good time pace. I thought that the first target Kawanori Mountain will be reached about 11:00am.
But I missed a route twice today.
The first miss was cause by my overconfidence. I did not trust my GPS route guidance that I had set the last night. I obeyed a sign board to Kawanori Mountain and I followed a group walking ahead.

Dscf5181s_2 Trouble_at_kawanori_mountain The second miss was also caused from my overconfidence. I saw a route sign to Kawanori mountain. But I could not find a route path because of fallen leaves. (The left picture is that point. The GPS point was "N35.83702, E139.11223".)  I stepped into a steep valley and I climbed it. The blue line shows my failed trek route at the left map.

Dscf5182s When I found it was a wrong judgment, my location was a very bad location point in the valley. My surrounding was rocks and the rock was very friable. In addition, a covered soil was slippy. I checked a mountain path with my GPS. My GPS displayed a mountain path close to my location, but I could not see from a lower position of the valley.
But, it was very lucky that I could be heard a women's conversation sound. At that situation, I could check my location distance from the mountain path clearly. So, I climbed a steep slope using trees that are grown on the mountain side.
I found another mountain path finally. It took about 1 hours in this recovering. The difference of the elevation was about 300m.

Dscf5184s I was very lucky to recover my big mistake. It was a problem of "a matter of life and serious injuries". I spent a much energy about that, and I spent a lot of mind stress. It was 11:00 o'clock. I was very tired, but I decided to climb to Kawanori Mountain.
I passed a person who went down from Kawanori Mountain. That person was the person I passed before I lost the way. I recognized the lost time.
I felt a big shock.

Dscf5189s Dscf5195s I arrived at the summit of Kawanori Mountain at 11:56am. The pace was not bad.
But I don't have a confidence to continue my first walking plan. I took a lunch at the summit, restored a mental balance, and after that I went down to Hatonosu Station.
This is a hard plan to do in short sunshine hours. I'll try it in next spring.

A scenery of Mt.Fuji from Mt.Ohgi and Mt.Momokura

I walked from Torisawa Station of JR Chuo-line to Ohgi Mountain, and to Momokura Mountain, and went down to Saruhashi Station. The weather was cloudy but few winds. Hence, I didn't expected to see Fuji Mountain, but I could see it from the mountain path to the summit of Ohgi Mountain. I thought that it was so beautiful, the scale was about three times bigger than I saw it from Takao Mountain.
Dscf5021s Dscf5036s Dscf5037s
The slope of the mountain path was steep, but there were no big rock and no chains. I guess that to climb the mountain, it needs no techniques. Near the summit of Ohgi Mountain was very steep. I guess that it will be slippy after when the rain falls. The summit of Ohgi Mountain has a wide open area, and we could see surrounding mountains and of course Mt. Fuji. The mountain path to Momokura mountain from Ohgi Mountain has a down hill, and walk up hill again. There are no rocky path and chains. But we cannot see a sight because of mountain bush. At the summit of Momokura mountain, if the weather were fine, you could see beautiful Mt.Fuji. The downhill path from Momokura Mountain to Saruhashi Station was a good walking condition for me. It was no big rocks and chains, and it had few steps.
I went to Saruhashi before going to the Station. If you have a time, I recommend you to visit the spot.

My_trekking_20091031
The main target of this trek was a long-range-walk for my physical training and to see an autumn color. (It was difficult to see a beautiful mountain color and neighboring mountain view in a cloud weather.)
The autumn color was beautiful at back in the mountains. The mountain color was different between the west and the east side. The western side had a lot of beautiful autumn color. The eastern side was green yet.
I started to walk about 10:40am from Shoumaru Station to Mt. Izugatake, and to other mountains. There were many hikers and children at Izugatake Mountain. But in other mountain, there are few hikers, it might be time was too late.
Dscf4879s <- A shot of Mt. Bukou from Mt. Omochi

At my first planning, I thought I'd like to walk up Mt. Bukou. It was too late for walking such a long way. So, it was too dangerous plan at that day because of late start. The walking plan was very tight and had many difficulties. The trail had a lot of steep up and down. From Yamabushi pass to Komochi mountain had a steep path, I had sometimes to climb/descend a steep rock. At the walking entrance junction of Mt. Bukou, I reached the junction about 3:50pm. There had no time to climb Mt. Bukou. And my physics was in a weak physical condition. I have to search a nearest point to return home. The mountain path from the junction to Hashiba, it had a lot of beautiful waterfalls, but I had few time to watch and enjoy. The path was too narrow and approaching the dusk. If I were looking off from the narrow path and walking, I would be falling down to the ravine. When I arrived at the mountain entrance of Hashiba Parking, it was 4:42pm, it was near the sunset time 4:50pm. I was very lucky. Then, I walked a road to Urayamaguchi Station as fast as possible. I arrived at the Station at 5:18pm.
I used garmin eTrex Vista HCx.
I thought that was a tough and difficult route for the beginner.
