Gozaisho mountain in Mie prefecture
A Gozaisho mountain (御在所岳) is a rocky mountain which belongs to southern Suzuka Mountains (鈴鹿山脈) and consists of granite.
I didn't have a enough time to climb a mountain, so I decided to climb only a Gozaisho Mountain. An ascent trail was to walk, and descent trail was to use a ropeway. I went by car to the foot station of a ropeway, and parked it on a parking lot and climbed the mountain. Gozaisho mountain has a many route to climb. One of them was restricted because of the risk of a collapse of the mountain after concentrated heavy rain. I could see Chita peninsula (知多半島) which is in the opposite shore across beautiful Ise Plain (伊勢平野) and Ise Gulf (伊勢湾) from the summit of Mt.Gozaisho.

Climb the mountain path
An entrance of the mountain path was near the ropeway. But, it was difficult for me to understand a full route map. I decided to walk up from a front mountain path "表登山道 (Omote Sandou)."
First, the keyword here was the front approach path "表登山道 (Omote Sandou)", and I walked searching that indicator board. I found the mountain path easily.
I took a picture whenever I found a attracted spot.
A mountain hiker came close to me when I took a picture, I tried to yield a path for him, but he followed to me. I talked to him and walked along the path with him. He was coming from Aichi Prefecture to walk the Suzuka mountains. According to his information, a scenic road through Suzuka mountains was influenced of concentrated heavy rain and collapsed a part of the mountain, so the road is closing even now.
He intended to climb Kamagatake Mountain. We were untied at the branching point. (9:43am) I walked to the direction of Buhei Pass (武平峠) at the destination board.
When I walking up the path for a while, I found a Trii gate that is the start of the mountain path of real "表登山道 (Omote Sandou)."
As I walked up a mountain path a little, I found an earth and sand on the road as the climber information.
While I was climbing a mountain path, a collapse of a trail path was sometimes found. I needed to check carefully where the point of the mountain trail would be connected. The destination board was hardly found after the Trii gate. Especially near the summit, I was sometimes lost a mountain path because of a collapse of the mountain. I walked in search of the route which goes to a summit that it is easy to walk. I have to go up to the summit by thinking the gradient at a branch point.
A slope of the path was like a surface of large sandstone, so it was very easy to slide down.
The only clear destination board from the Torill gate
I could check my route correctly at this destination board.
There was a crossing over a stream with rock
I had to take a balance to walk on the rock.
I met a Japanese skink and a darning needle
(left picture) This is a kind of typical lizard observed in Japan, and is a Japanese endemic species. The English name is a Japanese skink. The body has metallic luster and it has a beautiful blue metallic tail especially in young age.
At the summit of Mt. Gozaisho
When I had finished up the mountain path walking, there was a greenway paved from the ropeway there and many tourists were walking along it by casual wear. I turned to the left from the mountain path, and walk along a paved path to the summit of Gozaisho mountain "御在所岳頂上" and walked up stairs.
Beside a stairs toward the summit of the mountain, it had a spring water.
I got easily at the summit of the mountain. At the summit of this mountain, it had a first-class triangulation point.
I could see Chita peninsula which is in the opposite shore across beautiful Ise Plain and Ise Gulf from the summit of Mt.Gozaisho. Even from the open part of the path, I could see Chita peninsula which is in the opposite shore across beautiful Ise Plain and Ise Gulf.
There is a sign pole of Gozaisho Mountain on this mountain side, too.
I am wondering which is the real summit?
A descent by Ropeway
A length of a Ropeway is 2160.86m, and the height differences is about 780m. We can see a scenic view of Ise Plain and Ise Gulf about 12minutes by it. I found a big rocky mountain on the right-hand side (on the southern side) after a few minute that I descended by ropeway.
The name of the big rock is Daikokuiwa. I saw a lot of climber were taking a rest on it. Moreover, I found a long iron ladder at the other side of the mountain. I thought that Gozaisho Mountain has various enjoyable climbing paths.
